Eyes of the Orangutan

Fotojournalist Aaron Gekoski heeft het afgelopen decennium met zijn camera de relatie tussen mens en dier over de hele wereld vastgelegd.

Nu zit hij middenin een van de belangrijkste projecten waaraan hij gewerkt heeft: de wildlife-toerisme industrie.

De dieren in deze industrie hebben te lijden onder afranselingen en onvoorstelbare wreedheden. Achter de schermen vindt verschrikkelijk misbruik plaats, waar toeristen niets vanaf weten.

Aaron reisde de wereld over om de duistere kern van de orang-oetan toerisme-industrie te ontdekken, maar had geen idee waar dit hem zou leiden en hoe groot het verhaal zou worden… ‘Eyes of the Orangutan’ neemt ons mee in de wildlife-toerisme industrie en laat zien wat de impact ervan is op een van onze naaste verwanten.

The animals in this industry have to suffer from beatings and cruelty beyond belief. There is terrible abuse that goes on behind the scenes that the tourists don’t know about.
