Follow the Rain is een poëtische documentaire over schimmels en hun onzichtbare, levensbepalende rol in de natuur. Gefilmd over meerdere jaren in de meest ruige landschappen van Australië, neemt de film je mee in de wereld van zombie-schimmels, geheime netwerken tussen bomen en schimmels, en een tienjarige zoektocht naar een nieuwe soort. Zelfs hun rol in het maken van regen komt aan bod. Met oog voor verwondering en wetenschappelijke precisie laat de film zien hoe schimmels klimaatbondgenoten, bodemvernieuwers en onmisbare schakels in het leven zijn.
