On a remote coral atoll in the heart of Oceania, where rising seas and temperatures are expected to make the islands uninhabitable by 2030, a mother and her adult son fight to preserve their culture, freedom and identity. As they reflect on generations of colonial encounters and an uncertain future, their story reveals the emotional, social and spiritual dimensions of the climate crisis. Blending intimate storytelling with breathtaking imagery, Oceania: Journey to the Center is both an elegy and a call to action, urging us to reconsider our relationship with the natural world and the connections essential to our shared survival.
