Poland’s Wild East

Oost-Polen is een van de laatste wilde gebieden van Europa. In het oerbos van Białowieża, op de grens tussen Polen en Wit-Rusland, leven bizons. De Biebrza laaglanden vormen het grootste nationale park van Polen en zijn van grote waarde voor bevers, otters en talloze watervogels. Hoeveel ruimte we de dieren in het wilde oosten van Polen gunnen en wat de toekomst voor hen in petto heeft, ligt bijna geheel in onze handen…

Eastern Poland is one of Europe’s last wild regions. Bison live in the primeval forest of Białowieża, on the border between Poland and Belarus. The Biebrza lowlands make up the biggest national park in Poland and are of the utmost value for beavers, otters and countless aquatic birds. How much space we allow the animals of Poland’s wild East and what the future may hold for them is almost entirely up to us.
